Donald is an embarrassment

By Kendall Brown

Donald Trump has done a lot to embarrass us over the last year and a half. He’s insulted all of America’s allies and aligned himself with autocrats like Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un. He started a trade war and pulled the United States out of the Paris Climate Accord. And he’s spent the entirety of his presidency so far attacking people of color and immigrants, saying they are from “shithole countries”, all have AIDS, and refuse to go back to their huts.

You’d think that even Donald Trump could get along with people in merry old England. But no. He’s insulted London’s Muslim mayor, retweet literal British fascists and backed the fringe far right UKIP party.

I know — and you know — that Trump does not represent us. But here’s the thing — we need to make sure people in England know that too. America’s allies need to know that Trump is a temporary problem and, more importantly, that we’re going to do everything we can to prevent the damage he seeks to do to our nation and to the world.

That’s why, as Donald Trump visits the UK next Friday, July 13, HOPE not hate U.S.A. is publishing an open letter to the people of England, letting them know that Donald Trump does not represent us — will you sign it?

Trump has proven time and time again that he does not have our country’s best interests at heart, and that he will willingly destroy relationships with our allies if it’s what suits his fancy and his ego in any given moment. We cannot rely on him to shepherd our country through such an important time in history.

We refuse to allow the bigotry and hatred he espouses to be seen as representative of America as a whole. His cruelty is not what our country should — or will — stand for. He may be loud, but together, we are louder.

Now we’re coming together to send a crystal-clear message to the world: Donald Trump does not represent us. Sign HOPE not hate U.S.A.’s letter and join us in saying America is better than this:
